I cosplay because I love to create things. I love being able to bring a character to life and push the limits of my skills. I also just think it's fun to act like your favorite character with your friends :) What problems do you notice in the community? There are so many people who put on a false personality to the public. A lot of people talk really bad about people behind their back which is unfortunate because most

Instagram: @gabathegeek A very spunky and energetic cosplayer. Interviewing them was fun! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What do you define cosplay as? Cosplay for me is representing a fictional character by dressing up to look like them doing your own interpretation of the character (genderbending, gijinka, etc). First experience with cosplay? My first experience was dressing up as Korra from The Legend of Korra simply for Halloween which ended up being fun because I never made anything like it before. Why do you cosplay? I cosplay to find beauty in my flaws. For example, I do not like how my face isn't very feminine, however in cosplay this works to my advantage when it comes to crossplay. It also helps with body confidence and I have made the best of friends through the hobby. What problems do you notice in the community? For me I find that the commun

Instagram: @twinfools Twinfools, or Lucas, is a male cosplayer on Instagram. I had the pleasure of interviewing him. He was very positive with his answers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What do you define cosplay as? I say I'd define it as embodying fandom. Making costumes, performing, role-playing, crafting, creating videos/photos and making characters from fiction come to life. :) First experience with cosplay? I've always loved dress up, but my first venture into something that resembles cosplay was making a Tai (from Digimon) cosplay in elementary school. I spent hours cutting out colored duct tape and putting it on a blue shirt. I was too embarrassed to wear it in public, though, so I put on a tracksuit to wear overtop while I walked to my fellow nerd-friend's house. I ended up getting pulled into a basketball game with some other local kids, but I was still to

FOMO A.K.A Fear of Missing Out

In one of my college courses, we were instructed to not use social media for five days. This is my log of the results of this "break." Thursday It’s the first day and I am already noticing the difference. Since I have P.T.S.D. and use youtube as a way to calm myself down when I get flashbacks or need to get my mind together, I will give myself a pass with using it for medical reasons. I am getting messages and notifications from all over. I am worried because I might miss a photoshoot opportunity because of this assignment. But, there is always next weekend I suppose. In summary, not as hard as I thought so far. I give today an A. Friday Today is much harder. My phone is essentially blowing up. I wonder who specifically is the cause of my phone acting this way. I haven’t broken the rules so far so that’s good at least. Today is very uneventful. In summary, not much change from yesterday. I give today an A. Saturday These five days just seem to get longer and
